A 70 Acre Farmland destroyed at Asonomanso

More than 30 farmers at Asonomanso , a farming community in the Kwabre East District in the Ashanti Region have lost over 70 acres of farm lands.

Cocoa farms and food crops such as plantain, pawpaw, oranges, maize, cassava etc. have been destroyed.

“ Our properties are now smashed off, no hope in life again,” the farmers bemoaned.

The victims alledged that some youths from Asonomaso who claimed ownership of the land embarked on the act as an attempt to raise up buildings.

The affected farmers expressed worry over the destruction describing it as a barbaric when they were interviewed by Newstimesgh.com


They said no prior notice was made neither did they reach on agreements.

However, have called on Otumfoɔ Osei II, Asantehene and government of Ghana to intervene.
