A/R: Manhyia destools Aboabo Kesse Chief over sale of Asantehemaa’s lands

 

Chief of Aboabo Kesse in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of Ashanti Region, Nana Kwadwo Kesse II, has been overthrown by Manhyia traditional council following unauthorized sale of lands belonging to Asantehemaa.

He was found culpable of breaching a firm order of his royal family and Asantehemaa Nana Konadu `Yiadom who owns the Aboabo Kesse stool land resulting in his eventual destoolment.

 

The ousted chief reportedly defied the Asantehemaa’s order that bans him from selling lands without her concern.
Besides, Nana Kwadwo Kesse II was found guilty of selling 17 plots of lands illegally to some innocent’s persons without proper documents which led to his arrest and later sent to court.

 

There was spontaneous jubilation at Aboabo Kesse among those who fell as victims in the hands of the topple chief when the news was delivered to them.

 

Briefing the media, the Abusuapanin of Aboabo Kesse Nana Kwabena Owusu-Ansah accused him (Nana Kwadwo Kesse II) of indulging in several illegal activities prominent of which included his gross disrespect to his elders.

 

The Aboabo Kesse Abusuapanin stressed the overthrown chief should blame himself.
According to him, the deposed chief became ‘pompous’ and also acted as if he was above reproach, which he said was wrong.

 

Abusuapanin Nana Kwabena Owusu-Ansah in consultation with the Asantehemaa cut short the 20-year reign of the Aboabo Kesse chief.

 

“Nana Kwadwo Kesse II is no longer the chief Aboabo Kesse,” Abusuapanin Nana Kwabena Owusu-Ansah told the media.
