Abor market in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region is in shamble state, traders say the Keta Municipal Assembly has rejected the market to rot.
The market is not a busy one, traders and buyers ply their business around 4 PM. But it has only one street light since its the establishment years ago.
The one street light in the entire market is unable to supply light for the market, the traders said.
They told Newstimesgh.com reporter, Michael Kwadzo Ahiaku that “we do not see the need to paying tax to authorities since the revenue colleccted can not be use to decorate this market”.
According to the market women, some of the shelters or structures of the market are wailing off and about three of them have already been destroyed.
Some women alleged that authorities have taken away iron sheets and woodings of wrecked structures to their various homes for domestic use.
Unscrupulous individuals do use the market as a home to satisfy their sexual desires.
Traders have lost huge sums of monies as as result of a continuous thievery at the dark market .
As a result, stink emanating from parts of the market is unbearable.
Despite their numerous complaints to the Keta Municipal Assembly, authorities are reluctant to listen to them and neither does the assembly would find a solution to their woes.
