Afcon 2019: Ghana v Tunisia squad released; Asamoah Gyan still on Bench

The Black Stars and the Carthage Eagles are set to battle it out for a place in the next round of the continental championship today.

With the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt certainly not short on surprises, an interesting match awaits at the Ismailia Stadium where four-time champions Ghana face one-time winners Tunisia in the last Round of 16 fixture.

The bookmakers have tipped the Black Stars to get one over the Carthage Eagles as aside from Ghana’s higher historical status, their emergence as Group F winners ahead of Cameroon sets them as a fearsome side.

However, the Line ups of the black stars have been released but Asamoah has been left out of the first Eleven.

Ghana Line-ups:
Richard Ofori Keeps the poles

Andy Yiadom featured at the right back position

John Boye returns after Red card against Benin

K. Adams maintains his usual position

Abdul Raman Baba gets the nod to feature at the Left back position

Aquah Afriyie a solid midfieder comes on to replace Partey at the defensive midfield

Whilst Thomas Partey has been pushed forward to play behind Jordan Ayew to hold unto the ball and give decisive and accurate passes to the final third.

Wakaso Mubarak maintains his usual offensive midfield role (no.8)

Samuel Owusu at the right wing to replace Christian Atsu who had a nod in the Stars match against Cameroon

Jordan Ayew who has scored 2 goals in the AFCON 2019 maintans his position as the lonely striker for the stars.

And Adre Ayew Dede the captain for the side will also feature at the left wing.

The stars look forward to smash the Tunisia side to the AFCON Cup glory.

Meanwhile, sports pundicts and football loving fans have said the squad paraded for today’s match is the strongest side the Blackstars Coach Akwasia Appiah must use in all other matches if the Stars progresse to the next stages of the competition.

They claim it looks likely the Stars manager would be fired of his job should the team be eliminated from the tournament.
