Aspirants Unite for Victory, a group made up of losing New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirants, has said President Akufo-Addo has won the impending December 7 2020 polls by 58 percent.
The group at a presser today in Kumasi addressed by the Convener for the group, Mr Kennedy K. Kankam, Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, said, they appointed a research team to delve into the upcoming December 7 elections and findings from the research team indicate that the NPP has comfortably won the elections.
The group said it is optimistic to get majority seats of 175 in parliament.
Aspirants United for Victory has however asked Ghanaians to retain the Akufo-Addo led government in power.
They claimed this can be achieved if members of the party and Ghanaians turn out in their numbers to vote for the president on December 7, 2020.
The group said even though there is enough evidence that the NPP would win the elections without any hitch, it however foresee apathy, which could affect the fortunes of the party.
As a result there is the need to embark on a massive campaign to ‘get out the votes’ for the party.
A member of the group, Mr Bice Osei Kufuor, well known as Obuor said “from now to the election day, our focus is to get out the votes and ensure victory for the party. We’ll enter every house, every corner, we’ll even enter people’s bedrooms to campaign for the victory of NPP”.
The group said their main objective is to rally support from all losing contestants and prevent them from going solo but to rally support for the party for a massive win.
Mr Kennedy K. Kankam on the other hand, further stated that the group will ensure that all the parliamentary aspirants of the party got elected at the election.
He said they have adopted two constituencies, Mion, in the Northern region and Upper West Akim in the Eastern region and it’s doing everything possible to ensure that these seats fall to the NPP.
According to him, since the inception of the fourth republic, the NPP has never won those seats however he believes that this year NPP would win.
He said the group is currently present in all the regions and working with all the parliamentary candidates of the party to ensure the total victory for NPP.
Other members of the group that attended the press conference included Daniel Okyem Aboagye, MP for Bantama, Mr Collins Owusu-Amankwah, MP for Manhyia North, Mr Brice Osei Kuffour, the candidate at Asante Akim South and Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah, the candidate in Yendi.
