A group numbering over 50 people who known only to be Asawase constituency delegates also known as Fire for Fire have besieged the NDC party office, burnt countless number of car tyres in protest against the party’s executives decision of imposing Muntaka on them.
The group said, the decision by the NDC party executives to let Muntaka go unopposed without their notice is an infringement upon their rights and abrogation of democracy in the party and the country at large.
The NDC party recently released a statement that , Masawudu Mubarick was disqualified based on the recommendations of the Doe Adjaho-led Committee for Settlement of Outstanding Disputes, which was tasked to deal with all disputes and petitions pertaining to the internal polls – one of those being a petition filed by Mr Mubarick after the party refused to sell him nomination forms on the basis that he did not qualify to run on the ticket of the NDC.
This eventually has made it clear that Muntaka Mubarak is going solo if the ban on the Asawase NDC parliamentary primaries is released.
The Delegates upon hearing this statement deemed it an insult. However, a lot of car tyres have been burnt to show out their wrath againt the party executives.
They said we are going to burn these tyres from today until the executives rescind their decision.
“We are not fools, we will never allow Muntaka to go unopposed, he must be contested”.
The delegates said they will fight against Muntaka in 2020 General Elections should NDC Executives maintain the decision to let him ( Muntaka) go unopposed.
