Plans are far ahead for the Sepe Buokrom Central Assembly of the Church of Pentecost (COP) to clean Buokrom on Saturday, 29 February 2020.
The clean up exercise is geared towards the Church’s vision “Environmental Care Campaign” launched in 2018 which is aimed to complement government’s efforts to improve sanitation and as well transform every sphere of society with Godly principles and values.
According to the church, government solely cannot reverse and curb environmental degradation resultant of human activities; behavioural change by citizens is also a crucial factor.
The exercise is in collaboration with Buokrom Traditional Council, Buokrom Assembly Member (Hon Basuah) Muslims and other church bodies.
Speaking to the Buokrom Church of Pentecost District Pastor, Ps Frederick Sarfo, he said it is the responsibility of all Christians to rise and team up in the fight against poor sanitation in the various communities of the country.
“We have realised that filth is immensely swallowing the country therefore it’s our core mandate as Christians or humans to protect the God given environment” he stated.
The exercise which includes tree planting will commence at the forecourt of Buokrom palace through to Buokrom Junction, Sepe Buokrom cemetery, Sepe Buokrom health centre and then ends at Sepe Buokrom market.
The Leaders of the church of Pentecost and the Assembly Member for Buokrom electoral Area, Hon Joseph Basuah entreat all inhabitants to take a part in the upcoming clean up exercise.
