Crime: A two day old Baby stolen at New Edubiase

A newly born baby girl is reported to have been stolen by an unidentified young woman at New Edubiase in Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region.

The mother of the baby girl Miss Lydia (bereaved mum) gave birth on Wednesday, night, May 13, 2020 at New Edubiase Government Hospital.

Her mum who accompanied her told her on Thursday morning that she was going back to their hometown to get some amount to help pay her bills.

Suddenly, A young lady who posed as a visitor of a patient at the hospital came close and told her she will help her.
The thief later told her (Lydia) to escort her to a nearby Mobile Money Merchant to withdraw some cash to help settle part of her bills.
On their way the baby thief who had taken the baby already in a form of a help told Lydia (bereaved mother) to buy her some items.

She (ydia) proceeded on the baby thief’s request without ill feelings.
She came back and eventually the thief had taken the baby away.
She reported case to the New Edubiase Police yet the baby has not been found.
The Edubiase Police Commander ASP Sampene who confirmed the case says a thorough investigation is ongoing to fish out the thief.
