CSSMUG to shutdown Mining Sites if Workers fail to take part in Voter’s Registration Exercise
The Concerned Small Scale Miners Union of Ghana (CSSMUG) has said it will close down all mining Sites should workers fail to take part in the upcoming Voter’s registration process.
The group has entreated all small scale miners in the country to make themselves available for the upcoming exercise which is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
The statement available to Newstimesgh.com suggest that all CSSMUG must also endeavor to avail all their workers of age 18 and above for the very important exercise.
Miners are advised to work more in the night in order to make time to be registered within the day times.
Concession and site owners are also advised to divide the labor, so that one group may partake in the registration while the others work on the sites.
“Mine owners who fail to adhere would have their sites closed down until all workers get registered for their voter ID cards”, the statement according to CSSMUG.
The group has cautioned mine owners to take their workers through the Covid-19 safety protocols and provide them with nose masks and hand sanitizers before they leave the sites to the registration centers.
