Ejisu Asaman Residents call on Government to Fix Broken Bridge

Ejisu Asaman Broken Bridge

People of Ejisu Asaman in the Ejisu Municipal of Ashanti Region have called on government’s mediation to speedily fix the devastated Asaman Bridge.

The bridge on a the road that directly links Asaman and Ejisu completely broken on Monday, 14 October after a heavy down pour and this has made it cumbersome for commuters to use the route.

Ejisu Asaman Chief (Ejisu Asamanhene), Nana Prempeh Brushiaman II told Newstimesgh.com that half of the bridge has been smashed off 6 years ago.

He said efforts to reconstruct it has been in vain.

The Assembly Member of the area, Madam Stella Oduro said several reports have been sent to Ejisu Municipal Assembly over the break apart bridge yet it remains unfixed.

A section of commuters and drivers of Asaman expressed their displeasure over the bridge to Memeber of Parliament for Ejisu, Mr Owusu Aduomi years ago.

They hinted to voting against him in 2020 if he does not assist to fix it.

However, Mr Aduomi replied that their votes will never add a penny to his victory neither will their votes cause his suffrage.

“Your votes can not let me win nor loose my seat”, the residents alleged.

Meanwhile, a deteriorated bridge at Esreso -Adagya in the Bosomtwe district has claimed 7 lives within 2 years.

Therefore Ejisu Asaman Residents fear that a similar incident might happen in the community .

Subsequently, they have appealed to government to fix the broken bridge as soon as possible in order for activities to proceed.

They appealed also to authorities of Ejisu Municipal Assembly (EMA) to reshape or construct the deplorable Asaman to Ejisu road.
