The municipal is the leading cocoa production among other districts in Ghana yet, its roads network is nonstandard.
Residents of Elubo plus some other communities in the Aowin District for far too long have expressed great worriers over the bad roads.
Seven communities namely Assemkrom, Jema, Boinso, Kwahu, Serwum, Nkwanta and Kramokrom the Aowin municipal boycotted the just ended district assembly elections in December 2019, a mechanism they applied to express their dissatisfaction towards government over the poor state of their roads.
However, the MCE has assured that “roads and highways ministry [government] is working assiduously on the procurement process towards the construction of Awowin roads, so I believe in about 2 months time the contractors will start work on the Elibo road”.
Speaking on illegal mining, he said the ban on small scale mining tremendously contributed to his combat against the canker.
“As I speak, there is no illegal mining in my district all illegal activities are put to rest ”.
Mr Adu Gyamfi claims, plans are far ahead to commence community mining in the district.
“So those who have interest and money should come to the assembly so they can be captured under the community mining and their practices will no longer be illegal”.
