Recall that Ghana came to a standstill the moment Asamoah Gyan missed the penalty against Uruguay that would have seen the nation progress to the Semi-final stage of the competition.
A Twitter user had created a parody account that claimed that Asamoah Gyan missed the penalty on purpose to break the heart of his then ex-girlfriend.
Asamoah Gyan has since refuted the claims and has made it known that there is no iota of truth in the allegations and his legal team would take the parody account on.
He wrote: Disregard this fake and criminal page portraying my image as my official Twitter handle. My account is duly verified. Pls take not and deal with that faceless person accordingly as a criminal, anyone with info about him should alert my manager @AnimSammy for action to be taken.
