Member of Parliament (MP) for Afigya Kwabere North in Ashanti Region Nana Francis Marfo has cut sod to commence the construction of 14km Afigya Kwabere North Roads.
The project will cost the nation 37mGHC.
Communities such as Nkwantakes, Esase, Patasi, Akom among others will benefit from the project.
At the sod cutting ceremony for the project at Nkwantakese yesterday, the MP said the project will allay travelling burden on the people of Afigya Kwabere North.
He said Spark SM Ghana Limited/Motion Ghana Limited (Contractor) has been awarded the contract.
Work on the project will begin in the first week of June this year.The project is expected to be completed in the next 12 months.
Chief of Nkwantakese (Nkwantakesehene) Nana Boakye Yam Ababio who doubles as Presiding Member for Afigya Kwabere North commended government for the project.
He appealed to the Contractor to employ the youth in the area for the construction work.
Mr Osei Kwadwo aka Joe Santa of Spark SM Ghana Ltd pledged to complete the project as scheduled.
