I have followed social media commentary about Hon. Hawa Koomson’s vetting and I am sad about many people ridiculing her language and command over the English language and people even calling for her to be failed by the appointments committee.

I have even heard some NPP members saying so.

In life we must assess people based on their backgrounds and opportunities that they have been offered and how they have optimized those opportunities.

There are professors in Kasoa and environs, what were they doing when NPP was struggling to win her constituency? Hawa doesn’t speak the best of Achimota, St Roses, St Louis or Oxford English, but her people have demonstrated faith in her and return her to parliament for 3 terms.

Doesn’t it tell us something?
Why do we always want to look at the negative side of people?

May be if she had the opportunity that many of us had to attend good universities and earn high degrees, with her people’s skills and organizational abilities, she might be running for President.

Those of us with university degrees, what have we achieved in life with them?
The biblical admonition is that we ought not to think highly of ourselves than we have to; we all have imperfections.

She has demonstrated hers before the cameras, what about yours and mine that are eating us up in our private lives?

Live on Hawa, go and overcome the challenges that the new opportunity has placed on you! Selah!!!
