The United Progressive Party has revealed its main campaign message to be ‘legalization of Marijuana’ ahead of 2020 General Elections.
The party says it will legalize Indian hemp (Wee) to suit pastors, judges, politicians and other very revered persons in the Ghanaian society if they are given the nod in 2020 to rule country Ghana.

The Acting Chairman for the party, Kenneth Nana kwame Asamoah told Newstimesgh.com that, many prominent people like pastors, politicians, judges, doctors, business tycoons, musicians and among others who Ghanaians do not perceive as wee smokers do it secretly because it is not legalise.
He said many people think the various religious bodies in the country are against wee smoking.
Eventually, “no religion is against marijuana but leaders of the churches are afraid to speak on its legalization.”
Therefore, “UPP will legalize it to free people who are interested in it.
Apart from it being smoked, the party says marijuana legalization will serve as an employment and economic booster to the dwindled Ghana’s economy, since many people would cultivate it in larger quantities.
Government will be the sole owner of the wee business.
He narated that many people do smuggle it to foreign countries to earn cash into their pockets.
Subsequently, the country will take charge of its exportation and as well place tax on it in order for it to get income from it.
“We are doing this to boost the economy, people are just getting huge money without paying any tax to the government so it is the need for us to legalise it, find appropriate channels and procedures to reform it.”
He assured that factories would be established in order to process it for other purposes.
A License would be issued out to the traders, smokers and all stakeholders to permit them transact their business.
