New Kumasi Chief Butcher, Mr Ibrahim Wahab Tikumah
Peace has been restored at Kumasi Abattoir after chieftaincy disputes emerged between butchers.
A strong misunderstanding erupted between the six major tribes in charge of butchering at the Kumasi abattoir couple of months ago, after 5 out of the 6 tribes namely; Asante, Frafra, Dagomba, Gao(Songhai) and Grusi said the Housa has breach their constitution by installing one,Alhaji Muntari Bature as the Kumasi Chief Butcher in the post the departure of the late Alhaji Musah Bawah Tanko, Ex- Kumasi Chief Butcher.
However, the tribes have smoked peace pipe and have installed a new chief Butcher Mr Ibrahim Wahab Tikumah.
The butchers told this handle that the National Chief butcher (President)Chief Alhaji Zakari Sofo has approved Mr Ibrahim Wahab Tikumah as the New Kumasi Chief Butcher.
Mr Tikumah has been unveiled to authorities of Kumasi city but they are yet to present him to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu III, then he will be officially be coroneted.
The Kumasi Chief Butcher, Mr Ibrahim Wahab Tikumah said in an exclusive interview with Newstimesgh.com that new initiatives and dimensions are going to be set up by his administration in order to enhance business at the abattoir.
He said the butchers of over 3000 are going to giving identity cards and uniforms by early next year in order for their customers to easily identify them.
The new Chief Butcher eventually, has assured a complete safety of all customers.
He expects the people of Kumasi to transact business with the Abattoir ahead of the Christmas festivities.
