Sekyere Afram Plains MP supports Covid-19 fight with over Gh¢10,000

The Member of Parliament for Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency Hon. Alex Adomako Mensah has moved in to support health facilities in his constituency to fight covid-19 pandemic.

At a brief ceremony in Drobonso, the district capital yesterday, the MP presented logistics and Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) worth over GH¢10,000.00 to the District Health Directorate to be distributed to the clinics and CHPS compounds to help curb the spread of the deadly pandemic.

The items include were made of 45boxes of alcohol based hand sanitizers, 42 Veronica buckets, 42 receivers, 100 packs of tissue, 50 bottles of liquid soap, 4 boxes of nose masks and 2 boxes of disposable gloves.

Similar donation has been made at St. Vincent De Paul Clinic.

In his presentation, the MP who is also a Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Finance said the motive for the donation is to ensure safety of his people.

He said the gesture was out of his own pocket and good will and not from any other person.

The MP encouraged everyone to observe closely the preventive measures spelt out by the Health Ministry and World Health Organization (WHO).

Receiving the donation on behalf of the District Health Director, Mr. Michael Linsey , Disease Control Officer, commended the MP for the gift.

He further stated that the Health Directorate lacks a lot of logistics in their quest of administering service to patients. He appealed to the MP and all stakeholders to always support the directorate.

Mr. Linsey revealed that the district has recorded two suspected covid-19 cases and has sent their samples to KCCR and are waiting for results.

Meanwhile the two have are in self quarantining in their homes.
