Teacher Raises Over GHC 4.5K To Settle School Fees

A teacher, Madina Adutwumwaa Asare, at Diamond State Academy in Kumasi in the Ashanti region,

has been able to help 40 students with the payment of their school expenses after soliciting funds on social media.

In a narration on her Instagram handle, @teacher_ewuraama, Ewuraama said that she was able to accrue GHc 4,500 from her social media handles which assisted the students from humbled backgrounds immensely.

She told the press, “I find it very sad and worried when I see kids stay home because of school fees.

So with a pandemic happening around the globe, to which Ghana wasn’t left out, some parents weren’t able to pay the fees of their children. Most of them lost their jobs. Therefore I put it to myself to create a project called #helpmepaymyfees. This was shared on my Instagram to help needy children who can’t pay their

fees.”

“Through my social media platform, I was able to raise over GHC4,500 to pay for the poor pupils to keep them in school.”

In a set of pictures that were shared, the students were seen beaming with smiles as they held signs with inscriptions that portrayed their gratitude to everyone who donated.

“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who was able to donate to me, we appreciate and may God bless them,” teacher Ewuraama declared.

Not only is teacher Ewuraama imparting knowledge to the next generation, but she is also shaping the paradigm of her pupils about what true leadership is about.
