Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Samuel Adu Frimpong, well known as Medikal has been replaced with the Lynx Entertainment signee, Eugene Kwame Marfo, also known as Kuami Eugene for the Suncity Fest’21 music concert in Sunyani.
This comes after the rapper was denied bail at the court and remanded into police custody for five days after he was caught on social media brandishing a weapon in a viral video. He was arrested on Thursday by the police and arraigned before the court on Friday.
In view of that, the No.1 telecommunication company in Ghana, MTN who billed Medikal alongside Kelvyn Boy to perform at the Suncity Fest’21 musical concert at Sunyani has replaced the former with another artist for the concert following his current predicaments.
Recall, Kelvyn Boy took to his social media to announce that the concert that was scheduled for 23rd October 2021 has been postponed due to Medikal’s current conditions. He revealed that a new date will be communicated to the public soon. The concert is part of activities to mark MTN’s 25 years of providing services to the people of Ghana.
Well, although the new date is not out yet, the organizers have replaced the rapper with the self-acclaimed Rockstar, Kuami Eugene as a co-headliner for the upcoming concert.
