Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council has held a dissemination workshop today of which it presented the first Quarter 2019 Monitoring Report on Municipal and District Assemblies in the Region.
The report was compiled by the Regional Planning and Co-ordinating Unit (RPCU) of the Council after monitoring visits to the Assemblies.
The monitoring was done in fulfilment of Section 188(1a&b) of the Local Governance Act, 2016, Act 936.
Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Yao Letsa in an interview with Newstimesgh.com indicated that the workshop should be seen as an avenue for experience in order enable all Assemblies to improve on their performance.
For the 6th consecutive time, Hohoe Municipal Assembly has been ranked first in the monitoring exercise.
Dr. Letsa without reservation was very much impressed with the achievement of Hohoe Municipal Assembly.
He and the Regional Representative of the GIZ-SfDR, Titus Krummacher decorated the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive for Ketu North Municipal Assembly, Mr. Anthony Avorgbedor, for championing a Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Region.
